Nana's, Mud and Candy

I love Nana's, Mud and Candy!!!!

Boo Balen

We know it's been a long time and I blame Mom of course! Here's the update from Halloween! I was a CrAzY monkey for my first time to go trick or treating! There was a carnival at my school where Mommy and Daddy participated by decorating Dad's truck for a "Trunk or Treat" event. Everyone kept asking Mommy what "he" was a mouse or a monkey.... and I didn't know who they were talking about because of course I'm a "she." I told mom maybe next year I should be a fairy or a princess! The other thing I got to do is carve a pumpkin! Our new neighbor Cate was so kind to get me my first pumpkin and Mom and I carved it together. The stringy stuff on the inside was NASTY and I did not like the way it felt at all in my hands. Mom had to get me a spoon to scoop it all out! We had a ton of fun that day, Thanks Cate!

School is Cool!

This has been a CRAZY week at the Balen House! We have finally sold our house and are looking for a new home. Cholla doesn't know yet because she gets a little anxious so we are just keeping it a secret until we know where we are going! I started school this week and have made so many friends. Being the social butterfly that I am I have tried hard to make friends with another little girl who is a little scared at school. Daddy makes fun of my new friend because every time he comes in to pick me up she's sitting in the corner, with a Binky, staring at all the other kids. I just reassured her everything will be A-OK and it's fun to go to school! This is my first day of school outfit, Mom made me take pictures even though I wasn't to excited about it. I was so exhausted from my first day that when Daddy picked me up we went home and I caught up on some cartoons. I couldn't help but fall asleep after all the excitement! Daddy said I slept for almost 2 hours on the couch with Cholla guarding me! I don't know what I would do with out her... probably fall off the couch. That's the latest and the greatest at our house. We miss and love you all!

Last Days of Summer

We have a lot of catching up to do! Last weekend we all went to the Arboretum for some of the last days of summer. The Arboretum is botanical garden that is by our house and the lake. It was very fun to walk around, smell the flowers and try and crawl into the fountains when Mommy and Daddy weren't looking! There was also a sail boat race that we could see at the lake. I took some pictures to share with you. Little did I know then but it was our last family outing before school started on Tuesday....

And these are a few of my favorite things!

"Hi" everyone I wanted to share what my current favorite toys are! My Aunt Lindy got me this bright green worm to pull around behind me, in training for one day when Cholla and I can go on a walk by our self! I love it so much and no matter how hard I tug on it or sling it around a corner it always lands the right way. Another couple of faves are the dog that also does the same and randomly barks as he is tugged. I named him "Spot" but he tends to fall over a lot, my mentality is just keep pulling and he will figure out how to get up! Cholla runs away from me and "Spot" when we are out on one of our walks, I'm sure she's just jealous! Then the toy to end all toys, the popcorn popper... I don't know why Daddy keeps putting it outside. I try so hard to sneak it past him but he always hears it.
The other pics are of this horrible thing my mom keeps putting on my head. But it tickles my nose so much that I can't help but smile and laugh and I think that's confusing Mommy! If you see her please tell her to stop with that ridiculous feather thing!
Have a good weekend, we have a busy one with my BFF Sloan and a couple of Hip Hop Pool parties to attend! I will report back next week!
Love, Drew

My Trip to Visit Detroit!

I just got back from a much needed break from the HOT Texas Summer where I went to visit my Grandma Nina and Grandpa Bob for the very first time in Detroit! I got to meet so many people and do so many wonderful new things I don't even know where to begin!

First things first is that it was Grandma's birthday and she had NO clue we were coming. So when Grandpa Bob told her she needed to get out of the car at the airport to sign for a package she was TOTALLY shocked to see Daddy, Mommy and myself standing there asking for a ride! We got back to the new house where my boy friend Patrick and his twin brother Alex (the neighbors) had left me toys, a bed and many other things to make my trip even more fun! We went to the pool, shopping of course and walked for miles around the neighborhood with my Detroit Toys! As you can see below this was one of my very favorites!

I also got to meet Great Grandma Chris and Great Grandpa Max. They came to meet me and brought Daddy's favorite, Tunnel BBQ with Banana Creme Pie! Aunt Cindy was at the farm most the trip but made the drive just to meet me and bring more presents on Sunday night!

Daddy and Mommy had the opportunity to go to see some friends in Canada so I got Grandma and Grandpa all to myself! All in all it was the perfect get-a-way!

Love, Drew!

Drew's First Blog!!!!!

I know, I know, I've been in complete denial about getting a blog just for Drew and our family but it has come time. It might make it easier to update all the family members spread out over many states and countries. This Blog will be written as if Drew was telling the stories or blogs herself to help keep it light and entertaining. Tune in when you can, we will be here weekly (or attempt to update this weekly) and have a fun quiz over Drew's newest advancements, as we all know she's just SO advanced!

Love you all!

James, Erin and Drew-B
